Francisco Roa Bastos est maître de conférences en science politique à l’Université de Paris 1 Panthéon – Sorbonne et chercheur au laboratoire CESSP. Ses recherches et ses enseignements portent principalement sur la politique européenne, à la fois du point de vue de la sociologie politique de l’Europe et de la théorie politique de la démocratie et des partis. Il s’intéresse à ce titre à la structuration et à la légitimation d’un champ politique européen et de clivages transnationaux, ainsi qu’à la production des savoirs académiques qui y contribuent, en construisant les outils pour penser l’Europe aussi bien au niveau transnational que national. Il a également développé un intérêt pour la réception et les usages de l’œuvre de Max Weber en sciences sociales.
Francisco Roa Bastos is a lecturer in political science at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon – Sorbonne and a researcher at the CESSP laboratory. His research and teaching focus mainly on European politics, both from the standpoint of the political sociology of Europe and the political theory of democracy and parties. As such, he is interested in the structuring and legitimization of a European political field and transnational cleavages, as well as in the sociology of the academic knowledge that contributes to it, by constructing the tools for thinking about Europe at both transnational and national levels. He has also developed an interest in the reception and uses of Max Weber’s work in the social sciences.
